My buddies and I have been zip tying our whip flags to our backpacks.  The guy at the "Pit Stop" (the store at Egin Lakes Campground) said they would pull me over eventually because there is a possibility of getting stabbed if you crash.  Was he just trying to get me to buy a fender mount flag holder or is this true?     Whip It

Dunedude,

What the Pit Stop told you is true. The County Ordnance states that the flag must be mounted to the vehicle. I've seen you and your buddies out there and although your flags are up high enough it does pose a safty hazard to you, and you could be cited for it. Thanks for doing what you thought was ok. If you ever have any questions or concerns you can come and visit with me at the Sheriff's Office trailer. Thanks.  Roosting Rail

i think the guy at the pit stop was trying to do you a favor...   may be you could sharpen the end in your back pack so when you stop you could use it to roast hot dogs to Bonk
